[Position Closed] Payment Operation Senior Manager

Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end strategy, design, and execution of driver payment operations, including earnings, incentives, bonuses, reimbursements, and other driver-related payments
  • Define the operating model, policies, and governance framework for payment operations to ensure scalability, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Drive alignment of payment operations strategy with overall business and operational objectives
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all driver payment processes
  • Establish and enforce strong internal controls to minimize payment errors, fraud, and operational risks
  • Oversee payment validation, processing standards, and reconciliation processes to ensure data integrity
  • Lead payment reconciliation processes and ensure all discrepancies are identified, investigated, and resolved effectively
  • Manage high-level and complex payment escalations related to driver earnings, incentives, and transaction issues
  • Ensure timely resolution of payment disputes and maintain a high standard of driver payment experience
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and control frameworks for driver payment operations
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, operational standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Lead internal and external audit support related to payment operations and ensure proper documentation is maintained
  • Partner closely with Finance, Operations, Product, and Technology teams to optimize payment processes and system capabilities
  • Drive improvements in payment systems, workflows, and tools to enhance efficiency and scalability
  • Support implementation of new payment features, policies, and business initiatives impacting driver payments
  • Monitor key payment performance metrics, including payout accuracy, processing time, reconciliation status, and error rates
  • Analyze payment trends, risks, and operational inefficiencies to identify improvement opportunities
  • Prepare and present management reports with insights and recommendations for decision-making
  • Lead initiatives to automate payment processes and reduce manual intervention
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Continuously improve payment operations to support business growth and increasing transaction volumes
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the payment operations team to achieve high performance and operational excellence
  • Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and development plans for team members
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the team

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a highly quantitative field (Professional qualifications like ACCA, CPA, or a Master's degree are highly advantageous)
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in payment operations, financial operations, fintech, or related fields, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership or team management role overseeing payment, reconciliation, or financial operations teams
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale payment systems, reconciliation processes, or financial operations in a high-volume environment
  • Experience in ride-hailing, fintech, e-commerce, or platform-based businesses is highly preferred
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in a managerial or senior leadership role
  • Deep, proven experience handling high-volume digital disbursements, mass payouts, or digital wallet operations within ride-hailing, fintech, e-commerce, or banking ecosystems
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with experience leading operational teams
  • Deep understanding of payment operations, reconciliation, financial controls, and risk management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex financial and operational data
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across Finance, Product, Technology, and Operations teams
  • Strong process design, governance, and operational control capabilities
  • Experience in driving automation, system improvements, and large-scale operational transformation
  • High attention to detail with strong commitment to accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation
  • Ability to manage high-pressure operational environments and complex escalation scenarios
