Medical Lead

Job Description:

Position Summary

Responsible for driving medical marketing strategies across the assigned portfolio by engaging healthcare professionals (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs), and medical institutions. The role bridges science and commercial execution, ensuring ethical promotion, strong scientific engagement, and sustainable prescription generation and sales performance from medical channels.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute medical marketing plans aligned with brand and business objectives
  • Provide scientific leadership to support ethical promotion and differentiated brand positioning
  • Translate clinical data and product evidence into impactful medical communication strategies
  • Identify, profile, and manage Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and influential healthcare professionals
  • Design and execute KOL engagement plans, advisory boards, and scientific collaborations
  • Build long-term, credible relationships with medical associations, specialists, and institutions
  • Develop field call plans for Product Specialists/ Medical Representatives in alignment with brand priorities
  • Coach and guide field teams on scientific detailing and objection handling
  • Plan and organize scientific symposiums, CMEs, speaker programs, and round-table discussions
  • Manage speaker selection, presentations, and post-event effectiveness evaluation
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to convert medical engagement into measurable business results
  • Ensure all activities comply with local regulatory guidelines, company SOPs, and ethical standards
  • Review and approve medical content, promotional materials, and scientific communications
  • Support product training programs for field force with strong scientific depth

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • MBBS / BDS / BVS /B.Pharm or related Sciences degree, DBA or MBA
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in Medical Marketing / Medical Affairs / Scientific Engagement
  • Strong experience in KOL management, medical strategy, and field collaboration
  • Strong scientific knowledge and ability to interpret clinical data
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strategic thinking with business acumen
  • KOL relationship management and influence skills
  • Leadership and field team coaching capabilities
  • Analytical mindset with prescription and performance tracking ability
  • High integrity and strong compliance orientation
