Head of Strategy & Strategic Initiatives

Job Description:

Position Summary
Responsible for developing and executing strategies for international market expansion, and supply chain development and optimisation. This role is critical in driving the company's growth and new operational capabilities.
 
Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies for entering new overseas markets
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities
  • Develop business cases and financial models for new market entries
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful market penetration
  • Execute new market entry and set up business operations, including identifying and negotiating partnerships with strategic partners
  • Develop internal capabilities and processes for inventory forecasting, sourcing, and logistics planning
  • Identify and implement best practices in supply chain management
  • Develop strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality
  • Collaborate with suppliers, distributors, and logistics partners to optimize the end-to-end supply chain
  • Collaborate with the Board Chair to develop the company's mid-to-long-term strategic plans
  • Translate strategy into yearly business planning and develop key KPIs across functions and departments to track progress with the CEO
  • Lead strategic initiatives and special projects as directed by the Board
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions
  • Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to the CEO and board of directors

 

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in strategy, business development, or supply chain management roles
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful growth strategies
  • Strong understanding of international markets and cross-border business operations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Chinese, Thai, and other languages relevant to target markets is a plus
  • Structured thinker with the ability to translate complex ideas into actionable plans
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively in diverse international settings
