[Position Closed] Head of Business Development

Job Description:

Planning

  • Prepare annual plan of actions for business development department which are in line with vision, mission, core value, goals, and objectives as stated in long-term and annual business plan of Company.
  • Provide inputs in the development and revision of Company’s long-term and annual business plan.
  • Prepare SMART project proposals of design, pilot test, and roll-out of initiated/ refined financial and non-financial products/ services, delivery mechanism, and market studies/ researches.

 

 Product/services development

  • Lead in implementing the initiated plan of actions of business development department as stated in long-term and annual business plan of Company.
  • Lead in developing related manuals/guidelines (policies, processes/procedures, tools, forms, reports, etc) of product development/ refinement as well as operations manuals of all products/ services such loan, savings, money transfer and exchange.
  • Lead in updating operations manual of all products/ services to ensure effective and smooth business operations.
  • Coordinate in reviewing existing product/ service strategies and their delivery mechanism, in consultation with operations team and other relevant stakeholders, to ensure the meet of current client’s needs and demands, alignment to vision, mission, core value, goals, and objectives as stated in long-term and annual business plan of Company, and competitive position of the institution in the market.
  • Facilitate the work in collaboration with IT department to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations especially the system requirement related to financial product.
  • Facilitate the work in collaboration with Marketing Department to create marketing strategies/ programs/ activities to promote the new and existing products and services and company’s identity and brand name to the public.
  • Facilitate the work in connection with other relevant departments, units, and provincial branch offices to create institutional infrastructure support to ensure readiness before starting each business project in any stage (design, pilot test, and roll-out).
  • Facilitate the work in collaboration with Training Unit to design and refine training curriculum and materials and act as one of the key trainers for Operations Division to provide related training topics to operations team especially who work at field level to ensure that they are capable enough to do their tasks with professionalism and good customer services.
  • Ensure all plan of actions which are annually initiated and approved project proposals are properly and timely implemented.
  • Ascertain that all related manuals/ guidelines (policies, processes/ procedures, tools, forms, reports, etc) of product development/ refinement and researches/ market studies as well as operations manuals of all products/ services are properly taken care of and filed.
  • Regularly update operations team, management team/ committee, and key relevant stakeholder about the progress and challenges encountered during the implementation of the projects.
  • Report on performance trend of products/ services of Company to operations team, and management team, and other key relevant stakeholders.
  • Acts as a project prime of the renovative project and furnishes the ALCO with the necessary information for them to make “sound, viable decisions”;

 

Market Research

  • Develop/review policy, guideline, tools and report template for the market researches to ensure effective and efficient implementation as well as to obtain adequate data for analysis primarily information related to current needs and demands of clients, competitors’ rolling-out strategies, and industry performance trend.
  • Analyze on performance trend of the microfinance industry.
  • Conduct the following market research projects:

Competition survey

Client satisfaction survey

Client exit survey

Impact survey

Market study for area expansion

Market demand survey for product development/ refinement

Other relevant market studies/ research projects

  • Regularly monitor and report on performance trend of the microfinance industry and provide recommendations for refinements/ changes in product/ service strategies and their delivery mechanism as necessary to operations team, management team/ committee, and other key relevant stakeholders.
  • Regularly monitor and manage relationship with FRD. Ensure high know how on regulation requirements and VFM working 100% FRD Confirm. Build a good relationship which flexible the work of VFM.
  • Workout FRD recommendations for refinements/ changes in product/ service strategies and their delivery mechanism as necessary to operations team, management team/ committee, and other key relevant stakeholders.
  • Report on key findings obtained from market studies/ research projects, draw conclusion and come up with recommendations to address any problems/ challenges encountered to operations team, management team/ committee, and other key stakeholder.

 

Customer Services

  • Effectively manage the customer service and ensure the service rating of Company Myanmar is outstanding comparing to other MFIs and companies. The customer service includes.
  • Complaint management (call center, direct to staff, suggestion box)

Customer relation management

Customer service standard and compliance

Manage customer complaint management through suggestion box, direct to staff, phone and email channels to promote staff performance service delivery.

  • Ensure customer's complaints and/or feedbacks are effectively recorded and communicated to the compliant resolution committee and professionally provide

response to customers.

  • Develop customer relationship guideline to promote customer value that could lead to customer loyalty and business sustainability.
  • Organize survey and collect up-to-date information of other MFI's and company's service quality and improve Company Myanmar customer service satisfaction.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction level on customer service standard, complaint and customer relationship management.

 

Staff supervision and Development

  • Manage subordinated employees, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation and disciplinary actions;
  • Exemplify leadership, management and day-to-day behavior and attitudes that encourage others to follow Company mission, core values and Christian identity.
  • Identify annual trainings needs for staff under supervision.
  • Strengthen the capacity of staff under supervision through continuous on-the-job training and other methods
  • Provide leadership, management and day-to-day behavior and attitudes, which exemplify, and encourage others to follow, Company Mission, Core Values and Christian identity
  • Continuously build self and staff’s capacity on related skills, improve the performance and productivities. Undertake performance appraisal and staff development plans for all subordinates.
  • Be supportive to and uphold Christian Values and Principle. Regularly attend the staff spiritual and nurture activities.

 

 Relationship with stakeholders

  • Build, coordinate, and maintain critical relationship with VisionFund staff, VFI, WVC, key development/ business partners, other MFIs, and stakeholders.
  • Attend the meeting with the unit, department, and others to share and discuss on operation issues and others.
  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned by Chief Operating Officer and other relevant management.

Job Requirements:

  • 4 - 5 years of Management level in Microfinance /Banking experience.
  • Possess a bachelor degree (Degree in Marketing/Business Administration preferred)
  • Proficient in English language
  • Banking experience/background shall be an advantage
  • Strong Teamwork and excellent interpersonal skills

Working Time:

8:30AM - 5:30PM

Monday- Friday
