General Manager [Construction Materials]
Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee sales, purchasing, warehouse, retail operations, and logistics
- Develop sales targets, budgets, and business plans to drive sales growth and profitability
- Control inventory, purchasing, pricing, and discounts in accordance with company policies
- Work closely with the Finance Team to monitor credit sales and collection of outstanding payments
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and customers, and resolve customer complaints
- Work with HR to manage employee KPIs, training, and succession planning
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and workplace safety standards, and provide regular business performance reports
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce or Engineering are preferred
- At least 8 years of experience in construction materials, hardware, retail, wholesale or distribution
- Ability to manage sales, purchasing, inventory, budgets and payment collection
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP/POS systems, with strong data analysis skills
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving and staff development skills
- Demonstrated integrity, fairness and accountability for business results
