General Manager (Manufacturing Operations)

Job Description:

Position Summary

Responsible for making important policy and strategic as well as the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures and oversees high-level of operation process to ensuring that people, equipment, capacity and resources are suitable with company strategy and fully utilize. Establish operation standard control to shop floor and ensuring all operation activities are performed with high quality, productivity, efficiency, costing and safely to meet company standard and customer expectation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative strategies and operational policies to streamline factory operations, eliminate waste, and drive cost efficiency
  • Coordinate all manufacturing activities to maximize machine and labor productivity, ensuring maximum efficiency during production shifts while minimizing gain-loss from operations
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, resolve operational issues, and prepare performance reports complete with root cause analysis and action plans for gap closure
  • Ensure all factory machinery and equipment are properly maintained and in optimal working condition to minimize downtime
  • Provide strong, inspired leadership across the organization to foster a performance-driven culture with high team morale
  • Oversee screening, recruiting, and continuous training programs for factory workers to build a skilled workforce
  • Motivate factory personnel on an ongoing basis to consistently achieve and exceed production targets
  • Manage and execute effective Quality Control (QC) systems and processes to ensure products consistently meet established standards
  • Active leadership member in driving Company Policy on Occupational Health & Safety, ensuring strict adherence to factory safety standards and zero-harm goals
  • Oversee accurate preparation, proposal, and review of budgeting, financial planning, auditing, and operational reporting
  • Monitor compliance with all local laws, regulatory requirements, and Company Code of Conduct (COC), ensuring all required legal and regulatory documents are filed accurately and on time
  • Build and maintain positive, trust-based relationships with business partners, shareholders, government authorities, and strategic alliance partners
  • Ensure company policies, ethical guidelines, and legal standards are clearly communicated and enforced across all operational levels

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred)
  • Certification in Production & Inventory Management (e.g., CPIM) and Quality Control/Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO)
  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience in management, operations, financial control, and strategic leadership
  • Proven track record in a managerial or supervisory role directly within a manufacturing/factory environment
  • Solid experience in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management
  • Demonstrated high proficiency in operational efficiency improvement, lean methodologies, and plant layout optimization
  • Strong working knowledge of general finance and plant budgeting, including product costing, P&L (Profit and Loss) management, balance sheets, and cash-flow control
  • Deep understanding and sound knowledge of industry-specific factory equipment, machinery, and automation systems
  • Strong understanding of human resources, personnel management, talent coaching, and team development
  • Proven ability to build consensus, manage conflict, and cultivate strong relationships among managers, business partners, and employees
  • Exceptional skills in project management, multitasking, and outstanding time management under high-pressure environments
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities to resolve complex operational bottlenecks
