Gender Equality and Inclusion Specialist

Job Description:

Position Summary:

Responsible for supporting all aspects of HR/Staff, programming and influencing and communications and marketing implemented in Myanmar focusing on gender transformative programme implementation, gender transformative organizational culture, gender outcomes focus reporting, monitoring, evaluation and research, and communications working under guidance of programme director.

Responsibilities

  • Support to Gender Advisor for the implementation of gender roadmap and strategy in the organization
  • Ensure that staff are bringing a gender lens to their outreach to communities in the areas where the projects are operating, aiming to be gender transformative
  • Provide technical input to Gender Advisor in designing the project to be gender transformative and support project implementation, and lead to provide on-going capacity building to the project teams, which include Gender Equality, Diversity and Social Inclusion, Gender Based Violence training including GBV case management, mentoring, gender responsive monitoring and evaluation, gender analysis, identification of lessons learned and ongoing improvement of project implementation as needed
  • Conduct the trainings and mentoring/coaching activities to the Staff, partners, Gender Champions and networks members to develop their capacities and knowledge in gender and inclusion in their programmes and organizational gender and inclusion capacity building
  • Provide technical advice to Gender Advisor and support to ensure that all programmes strive to become gender transformative in all project cycles, and lead “Gender Marker Assessment” activity for all projects in the organization based on their time line complied with the results
  • Collaboration with Gender Advisor to facilitate and support knowledge management and exchange of best practices across the region and global
  • Collaboration with Gender Advisor to ensure gender integration in the new project proposal development for various projects and advise how to mainstream gender transformative strategy
  • Lead Girls Out Loud activity and communicate with Girls club, and provide the weekly awareness session to girls
  • In coordination with the Gender Advisor and programme unit manager, represent the organization at external, closely work with project team to facilitate trainings, dialogues and awareness raising activities with the community members as needed
  • Provide technical input to Gender Advisor on the development of gender related IEC materials such as poster and pamphlets consultation with the target groups, stake holders and partners
  • Advise the social-change campaign, ensuing girls and youth involvement and guidance in collaboration and consultation with multi-stakeholders, International Women days, 16 days
  • Advise the organization’s policies and organizational culture to be supportive in trust, openness, respect and accountable
  • Assist to Program Manager and Gender Advisor to prepare monthly report, quarterly report and donor report

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications And Skills

  • Advanced degree, ideally in a subject related to Gender studies, social studies, community development
  • Minimum two to three years of demonstrated professional experience leading or advising on programmes and organization that are mainstreaming gender and inclusion
  • Proven track record of experience in assessing, building capacity, monitoring on gender equality outcomes in Staff, programmes and communication and marketing 
  • Excellent English language skills, both oral and written
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of gender issues in Myanmar 
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment 
  • Strong team-building and facilitation skills
  • Experience working in relevant internationally supported humanitarian and development projects (preferred), Gender related academic background would be an asset

Working Time:

8:30 AM ~ 5:30 PM

Monday ~ Friday
