Head of Air Freight

Responsibilities

• Growth of air volume, sustained profitability of air operations through efficient carrier management and active management of key global customers
• Lead Myanmar air freight initiatives and support cluster freight initiatives
• Responsible for air freight operations and adherence to guidelines and policies
• Responsible for procurement and carrier negotiations and contract management for all traffic
• Actively promote the growth of trade lane sales development with overseas partners
• Monitor and review airline performance management for continuous operations improvement
• Manage alternative process/flows to proactively support customers and business needs
• Define and manage service level agreements with internal and external users
• Review, formulate and implement procedures, standards and controls in accordance to corporate guidelines and policies
• Support profit improvement objectives through continuous process improvement of air operations
• Study and implement industry best practices and market trends on operational and service excellence
• Provide advice and operation support to the sales team for all air freight sales initiatives
• Conduct cross divisional communication sessions on customer service improvement plans
• Establish and manage supporting resource plans to enable delivery of business plan objectives
• Onboarding of new key customers and implementation of new business

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, advanced degree preferred
• 5 years of related management experience required
• Solid experience within the forwarding or related industry in specifically airfreight and the capacity to build long lasting strategic relationships
• Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and strategic skills are required
• An individual who can engage at senior level with customers and partners
• Internal company knowledge, structure, and systems strongly preferred
• Required to travel as per the business requirement
