Import Manager

Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the shipments are cleared in timely manner in order not to pay damage and detention charges
  • Ensure all customers duty, commercial taxes and other taxes are to be levied and correct
  • Apply and obtain required import license in timely manner
  • Track and collect all pertaining documents before arrival of the cargo
  • Disseminating all pertaining shipment documents to account department that are necessary for SAP processing before the clearance of the cargo
  • Update 100% of tax exemption status and update the changes of other laws, rules and regulations
  • Inform to shipper and international procurement managers and concerned parties in timely manner for the incidents of damage and quality claimants and ensure company gets back the claimed amount
  • Manage the import/export process and ensure compliance with local and foreign government laws and regulations
  • Expedite the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations, including customs documentations and transportations
  • Oversee the completion of paperwork and monetary transactions associated with distribution in a timely manner
  • Negotiate with clients and handle issues with customs officials
  • Liaise with principals and suppliers to resolve any shipment related documentations discrepancies to ensure smooth clearance process
  • Plan and prepare for adequate foreign currency reserve to make the supplier payments
  • Follow the rules and regulations and maintain the requirements of Quality Management System in accordance with ISO guidelines
  • Train and supervise the staffs to get knowledge of specified SOPs and process in order to comply with its requirements
  • Ensure department related documents are archived in accordance with the corporate document retention policy
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the management

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Any graduate with Diploma in Supply Chain Management
  • At least five years working experience in import and export
  • Knowledge of custom clearance process and latest government import and export regulations
  • Good business communication skills in English
  • Good computer skills (MS Office Suite) with Myanmar typing
  • Knowledge of import license application and shipment clearance matters
  • Knowledge of banking for exports and imports
  • Reliable, responsible, accountable and strong commitment

Working Time:

Monday ~ Friday

Saturday & Sunday closed
