Education Technical Lead

Job Description:

Position Summary:

Responsible for the implementation of educational technical activities related to the project and also be responsible for coordinating with sub-grantees, Local stakeholders, USAID, international and local partners, and community organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure program activities address the reduction of out-of-school children
  • Improve learning outcomes for marginalized students
  • Implement evidence-based interventions tailored to the local context
  • Work closely with INGOs, CSOs and stakeholders
  • Ensure capacity building and ownership of program activities by counterparts
  • Provide technical expertise for the design and implementation of the grants program
  • Align program activities to achieve defined objectives and outcomes
  • Collaborate with the M&E officer to design and implement a plan
  • Use MEL data to inform program implementation and strengthen outcomes
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual reporting
  • Initiate procurement requests for program activities
  • Provide technical reviews and approvals for relevant procurements
  • Integrate ongoing learning into program adaptations, working closely with the Chief of Party
  • Participate on education related networks, and clusters beneficial for the program

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of five (5) years working on education programs
  • Master's degree/Bachelor's degree in International Development
  • Extensive experience in Education and Youth Engagement (YEE, Leadership Development) in Asia, preferably Myanmar
  • Work experience in designing, planning, implementing and evaluating education programs in Myanmar
  • Work experience on USAID projects is strongly preferred
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Proven strategic relationship management skills and advocacy skills
  • Planning and monitoring, coaching, mentoring, training and facilitation skills
  • Accountability and responsibility for own performance
  • Demonstrate high degree of professionalism and integrity
  • Stays calm and adaptable to unforeseen change
